매년 한국에서 남쪽을 향해 떠나는 제비의 먼 여정을 창문 위에 한지를 덧대어 지도의 형상으로 풀어낸 작업입니다. 수많은 빛을 내며 머나먼 거리를 비행하는 제비의 궤적을 상상하며 그 눈부신 이동의 흔적들을 한지 위에 담아냈습니다. 창을 통해 들어오는 자연광은 한지 위의 궤적을 비추며 사람 곁에 머물러온 존재와의 연결성을 시각화하고, 서로 다른 두 존재의 삶이 공존해 온 관계의 의미를 묻게 합니다.
This work translates the long-distance journey of swallows traveling south from Korea into a map-like form, created with Korean paper applied to windows. Imagining the swallows' trajectory as a flight shimmering with countless points of light, I captured these luminous traces of movement upon the paper. As natural light filters through the window, it illuminates the paths on the paper, visualizing the connection between humans and these beings who have long lived by our side and questioning the meaning of our shared existence.
